The Carr occurrence is located in a saddle between two mountain peaks, 5 kilometres west of Iklaki Peak and 120 kilometres east-northeast of the community of Hazelton.

A Late Jurassic hornblende diorite plug of the Francois Lake Intrusive Suite intrudes volcanic rocks of the Lower Jurassic Telkwa Formation (Hazelton Group). Biotite from the intrusion has been dated by potassium/argon methods at 145 million years (Geological Survey of Canada Open File 2322).

Float boulders and mineralized outcrop briefly examined in 1972 in the vicinity of ground magnetic and soil anomalies are weakly

mineralized with disseminated chalcopyrite and molybdenite (Assessment Report 3769).

Samples were taken during a 1971 reconnaissance project from an area of complex aeromagnetics as indicated on Federal/Provincial Aeromagnetic Map 5285G. The Carr group of claims were staked in 1972 by Canadian Superior Exploration Limited to cover an area drained by creeks anomalous in copper and molybdenum. Geochemical (192 soil samples) and geophysical (ground magnetics) surveys were completed (Assessment Report 3769).
